Your Scenic Rim Walk experience commences early morning when you meet your group and guides at Spicers Hidden Vale. You’ll set off in a 4WD to the Scenic Rim Walk trailhead from where you’ll commence today’s 5 hour walk through the western side of the Scenic Rim. Learn about the history and ecology of the Scenic Rim as you climb steadily higher with panoramic views opening up as you near the ridgeline. Morning tea is enjoyed on a rocky outcrop before setting off again passing impressive 4 metre high grass trees and continuing along the side of the mountain before lunch overlooking Little Liverpool Ranges. You’ll arrive mid afternoon into Spicers Mount Mistake lodge, where you can shower and relax in the lounge or wander to the local waterfall. A communal dinner is served with wine and other beverages and you can relax by the fireplace before bed.

A hearty breakfast is served in the lodge this morning before commencing today’s walk which enters the Main Range National Park. You will feel the forest folding in around you as you walk through the ancient world-heritage listed Gondwana rainforest this morning, with an old loggers trail a reminder of the history of this area and the importance of its conservation. This afternoon you will enjoy the sight of your wooden eco cabin hidden in the amphitheatre-shaped natural setting of tonight’s camp. This evening guests come together for sunset drinks and dinner by the fire.

Today’s walk ventures further into the National Park and rainforest, making it a sheltered cooler day on the trail. Starting in a wooded forest with beautiful walkways fringed by boulders and contrasting bright green foliage, you’ll cross a dry rocky creek bed before entering an unharvested dense area of the park where the trees get thicker and taller. As we near camp we pass through ancient eucalypt forest before reaching the valley floor, where the creek feeds a mountain spring offering a chance for a swim in the warmer months. From here it is a gentle climb into Spicers Timber Getters Eco Cabins, where you’ll enjoy a private cabin designed to invite in the sounds of bush with its large louvre windows and balcony.
Included: B - L - D
After a satisfying breakfast, set off with your guide for your final walk crossing a rocky saddle and re-entering the rainforest with its magnificent tree ferns and the sounds of Albert’s lyrebirds. After a brief scramble to a rocky outcrop, you’ll be rewarded with spectacular views over the northern section of the park where the vastness of the Scenic Rim can be seen. Much of the day will be on an open ridgeline allowing rewarding views to end your Scenic Rim hike. Upon finishing today’s walk, you’ll be whisked into tonight’s camp with its private ensuite cabins, beautiful dining room and sandstone fire pit for stargazing after dinner.
Included: B - L - D
After breakfast in the morning, you’ll return to Brisbane or your next destination. We recommend adding a night or two at Spicers Peak Lodge for some post-hike relaxation.
